Assistant General Manager
Gilbert-Summit Rural Water District
 

The Gilbert-Summit Rural Water District is seeking a qualified candidate to shadow the current General Manager and learn all aspects of the operation and business of the Gilbert-Summit Rural Water District. The selected individual may, at the discretion of the Board of Directors, move into the General Manager position upon the current General Manager’s retirement.

Some Tasks associated with this Position:

  • Prepare written reports
  • Evaluate financial documents
  • Supervise, interact with and evaluate personnel
  • Have a good working relationship with the Board of Directors
  • Meet with and participate in various professional groups and organizations
  • Oversee Administrative operations
  • Implement policies and procedures of the Water District

Attitude/General Knowledge:

  • Dedication to Water Quality, Conservation and wise use of Natural Resources.
  • Understanding of Profit and Loss; Principles of Accounting.
  • Recognize people as our most valuable resource.
  • Familiarity with Labor Laws & Principles of Customer Service.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A thorough understanding of successful business practices as well as state and regional government.
  • Water Distribution and Water Treatment certification of at least a level “C” in each discipline, or willingness and commitment to attain certification within 2 years.

   Desired:

  • A four-year degree or area of concentration in business management, public administration or engineering or equivalent experience.
